Tour Description:
Start your day at Monte Albán, the ancient Zapotec capital and one of the most significant archaeological sites in the region. Built on a flattened mountaintop, it offers panoramic views of the Oaxaca Valley.
After exploring the ruins, visit San Antonio Arrazola, where artisans carve and paint colorful wooden figures known as alebrijes.
Continue to Cuilápam de Guerrero to see the unfinished colonial-era convent, and then head to San Bartolo Coyotepec to learn about the area’s distinctive black clay pottery.
The day wraps up with a stop at a chocolate shop to taste traditional Oaxacan chocolate and see how it’s made!
